Easton Walled Gardens is part of The Easton Estate. The 400 year old gardens were revived from dereliction in 2001. Today the gardens are recognised nationally and last year received 17,500 visitors. Visitors to the gardens can enjoy 12 acres of gardens, a tearoom, two shops and toilets. Meeting rooms, outside catering and a meadow retreat are also available. Easton Walled Gardens is looking for a new manager to run the retail and visitor facilities. Up until now this job has been shared between Lady Cholmeley and her team but the growing success of the business means that she is now looking for someone to takeover the day to day running of the visitor experience and retail business.
Tasks will include running the shop including stock control, EPOS systems and staff rotas, running the online shop and sales, developing products and producing reports, developing and managing corporate meetings and family celebrations including liasing with caterers. organising rotas for meadow retreat, running the holiday cottage, health and safety assessments and implementation and organising staff training. Other tasks include managing the maintenance of signage and visitor facilities, running the office on Mondays. Longer term goals include working on online website to improve customer experience and conversion to sales in online shop and developing CRM system. Developing and implementing strategies with Lady Cholmeley to boost sales in all areas.
Applicants will be working in the offices at Easton surrounded by glorious gardens. You should have management experience and be very comfortable with IT. You should have a strong understanding of business principles and be happy to be part of a small team who are ready to turn their hand to anything to make the visitor experience the best it can be.
